The Central Ohio Leadership Census (2011-2018) was an annual accounting of women’s participation in key leadership positions in the community across six different sectors. It benchmarked the progress to date toward gender equality at the leadership level in business, government, higher education and the nonprofit community.
In 2010, the United Way of Central Ohio’s (UWCO) Women’s Leadership Council (WLC) created the E3 Initiative to help low-income women in the community become “educated, empowered and elevated” to a new level of financial stability through post- secondary education and training. Briefing notes on the status of women in Central Ohio were used in the initial development of the program and a summary report and evaluation were completed three years into the program.
This briefing was prepared for a proposed policy “hackathon” on the gender pay gap. It has also been used by the City of Columbus Women’s Commission.
ION is a national consortium of women’s leadership organizations that share the mission of increasing the number of women appointed to corporate boards and in serving in executive positions in businesses across the United States. Its periodic research reports provide benchmarking data at both the regional and national levels.
The proposed Institute on Women, Gender, and Public Policy at The Ohio State University provided updated information regarding the status of women and girls in Ohio.
The Women’s Book was an annual publication that showcased women leaders and local resources in Central Ohio. Each year’s publication included updates on the status of women and girls in the region.
